Don’t see your question? Please ask.
Tens of thousands of people are using the product
successfully on every call so we know it works, but there can always be issues
on an individual phone. We understand your frustration. Please help us help
you. Here is what we would suggest:
- Uninstall ALL versions of this product (Free version, Trial version, Paid
version) that you may have on your phone
- Reinstall JUST the paid version
- Make a few phone calls into the phone; (note if you have a lot of apps,
sometimes it can take a few calls before our app is properly initialized and
warmed up, due to phone memory constraints on the phone)
- You should see our will call bar on incoming calls.
- To check out and understand our functionality, please take a moment to read:
- FAQ: http://www.phoneplusapps.com/apcb/faq.html
- About our app: http://www.phoneplusapps.com/aboutcallback.html

- IF THERE ARE STILL ISSUES, PLEASE SEND US DETAILS OF WHAT YOU ARE TRYING AND
WHAT IS HAPPENING SO WE CAN ASSIST YOU.
We very much want you to be a happy long-term customer.
There are several reports of issues on Android Market after paid support was released by Google. We can only advise that you try again. Hundreds of people have purchased successfully so it IS working for many, but as a developer we are helpless in this. Please also report the issue to T-mobile. We hope it will work for you soon.
Please make sure you only have the one copy of the app - the
paid version. If you are unsure which version is which, then please go to
Android Market >> My Downloads. There you may see one or more of the
following:
- PhonePlus Callback Trial
- PhonePlus Callback
- PhonePlus Callback Classic
The PhonePlus Callback (with nothing after that in its name) is the one you
want to keep. Uninstall the others.
If that doesn't help, you can uninstall all of them and reinstall just the paid
app from Android Market (you will not need to pay again). Of course, in
this approach, you will have re-setup any custom settings you had set in the
app.
To install the paid version, you can go to Android Market and search for
"PhonePlus" and the one that's called PhonePlus Callback (with
nothing after it like Trial or Classic etc) is the one you want, or easier
still if you are reading this on your phone just click on: http://market.android.com/search?q=pname:com.phonepluscallback
Yes, absolutely. Even if you delete the Paid product by mistake, you can always re-download at no extra charge.
Believe it or not, it is a one-time fee! Now isn't that a great deal?
That’s no problem, you can simply redownload the Paid app for no extra charge. Google keeps track of the fact that you bought it so they will let you redownload it for free.
Thanks. Please, if you haven’t already done so, if you could take a moment to post a positive comment and high rating for the app on Android Market, that would be much appreciated. Also, if you are using the Classic free app, please keep in mind that it is unsupported and there will be no upgrades. Consider purchasing the $1.49 Paid app. To purchase, you can go to Android Market and search for "PhonePlus" and the one that's called PhonePlus Callback (with nothing after it like Trial or Classic etc) is the one you want, or easier still if you are reading this on your phone just click on: http://market.android.com/search?q=pname:com.phonepluscallback

There are two modes - Automatic & Manual, which you can
control from settings.
In Automatic mode, you get only one button to click (it’s
called Will Call Later), and the button decides what to do. If the contact has
both a cell# and an email address, only a text message
will be sent. In Automatic mode, email is only sent if there is no mobile#.
Only one of the two (email or text) are ever sent, in any mode. If
the contact has neither a mobile number nor an email address, or the caller is
not in your contacts, only a reminder is set, no message is sent.
In Manual mode, you get three buttons: Will Call Later, Text
and Email. The Email button only shows up if there is an email address
available to send to. The color of the Text button (Green, Red, Yellow) indicates respectively that
- it is a mobile#, or it is a non-mobile# in contacts, or it is a number not in
contacts and therefore MAY be mobile.
Sounds like you might still have the Free Lite or the Free Trial version installed on the phone along with your new Paid version. Please uninstall ALL versions, then just reinstall JUST the Paid version. You should not get any more purchase reminders after that.
It will send a callback message (in Automatic mode) if the caller is calling from a mobile number that is in your contacts or if the caller's contact on your phone has an email address. Also if you are in Manual mode, pressing the Will Call button will only set a callback reminder, you have to "manually" press the Text or Email buttons to decide which you want to send. For more on this, please read: "What are the two main modes of operations?" above.
Absolutely. In addition to customizing the four out-of-the-box messages we give you (Busy, In-meeting, On-call, Driving) you can create up to two custom messages of your own. You can call these whatever you want and supply your own message text as well. In order to take advantage of these, you need to check the “Allow me to manually select which of the below texts to use on each call” checkbox, on the Settings:Text tab.
This should not happen in v2.0.0 or above. Does this happen
each time you answer a call or only sometimes?
Anyway, there is another option for you. You can go to Settings, and change the
Show Will-Call Button Bar: from "When call is ringing" to "As
soon as I Reject a call". Then press Save. In this mode, the buttons will
not show up during the call or when you answer. They will only show up if you
press Reject (Endcall key), or if you miss the call.
Get the latest version. You can check your version number from the About page in the app, and download 2.0.0 from Android
Market.
Sure. You can go to Settings, and change the Show Will-Call
Button Bar: from "When call is ringing" to "As soon as I Reject
a call". Then press Save. In this mode, the buttons will not show up
during the call or when you answer. They will only show up if you press Reject
(Endcall key), or if you miss the call.
Yes this is a known limitation unfortunately, at the moment. The issue is that SMS uses the same GSM channel that a phone call uses, and the phone does not allow concurrent multi-use of that channel. So SMS can only be sent when there is no call going on. This is a basic limitation of the phone. There is a way to work around it, but that would involve sending SMS over http using an SMS Gateway provider. That would cost $$$. So at this time, the text only gets sent after you hangup, which we know is not good. Perhaps in the paid version we might introduce the paid SMS-over-http feature....
Text gets sent based on what your mode and other settings are.
The
app has two modes - Automatic & Manual, which you can control from
settings.
In Automatic mode, you get only one button to click (it’s called Will Call
Later), and the button decides what to do. If the contact has both a cell# and an email address, only a text message will be
sent. In Automatic mode, email is only sent if there is no mobile#. Only one of
the two (email or text) are ever sent, in any mode. If the contact has neither
a mobile number nor an email address, or the caller is not in your contacts,
only a reminder is set, no message is sent.
In Manual mode, you get three buttons: Will Call Later, Text and Email. The
Email button only shows up if there is an email address available to send to. The
color of the Text button (Green, Red, Yellow) indicates respectively that - it
is a mobile#, or it is a non-mobile# in contacts, or it is a number not in
contacts and therefore MAY be mobile. If you press the text button, an SMS will
be sent to the caller's number.
Important: the text gets sent only AFTER you reject the call due to a Google
Android limitation (see next para). (if you are in the "Show Will Call popup after I reject
the call" mode, the text gets sent immediately)
Note: if you are already on one call and receive another call, and want to send
text to the second caller, there is a known limitation with this unfortunately,
at the moment. The issue is that SMS uses the same GSM channel that a phone
call uses, and the phone does not allow concurrent multi-use of that channel.
So SMS can only be sent when there is no call going on. This is a basic
limitation of the phone. There is a way to work around it, but that would
involve sending SMS over http using an SMS Gateway provider. That
would cost $$$. So at this time, the text only gets sent after you hangup, which we know is not good. Perhaps in the paid
version we might introduce the paid SMS-over-http feature....
So, in summary, text should get sent after call stops
ringing or when there are no more calls on the phone, if caller is mobile# in
contacts (in Auto mode) or when your press Text button in Manual mode.
Hope this makes sense, and please let
us know if this is not how it is working.
If you are getting callback reminder popups or alerts, and you don’t want them, you can turn them off. Go to Settings>>Advanced>>Reminder Alerts, and there you can choose:
·
"Do not
bother me with alerts": you will receive no reminder alerts. You will have
to check them yourself From the main
menu>>Callback Reminders.
·
"Notifications
only, no popup": you will receive notifications in the top notification
bar, but there will be no popup alerts
·
"Notifications
AND popups": you will receive popup alerts as well
as notification alerts.
You can customize the default text of all the messages from Settings:Text. In addition, with v2.0.0 you have the ability to add your own additional new custom messages.
Sure, you do have that option if you use the Manual mode.
Just go to Settings and set the mode to Manual. Then when you get a call, you
will see a Will Call Later button and an arrow button. When you click the
arrow, you will see Text and Email buttons. Click Text to send an SMS, or click
Email to send an email. Note that the Email button shows up only if there is an
email address in the contact for that caller.
If you tell us what the issue is, we'll be glad to help. Several thousands of people are using it all day long, so we know the product works. But it is always possible that there is an issue in an individual case. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE MULTIPLE VERSIONS (OLD FREE, TRIAL, PAID) installed at the same time. Uninstall all versions and reinstall JUST the version you want to use, preferably the Paid one.
·
Are you able
to get to the main menu of the app?
·
Please make
sure that PhonePlus Callback is Enabled
·
Set it to
Automatic mode
·
Call your
phone from a number that is in your contacts as a mobile number
·
You should
see the Will Call Later button and an arrow.
·
Press the
Arrow
·
You should
see a Text button
·
Press it
·
Then press
the end call button
·
The other
phone should receive a text message in a few seconds
This is just
one basic feature. You can also send emails, you can
choose what reason to send and much more.
If this basic test does not work, contact us. Again please give us as many specifics as possible so we can help.
Sounds like an Android Market problem. The app itself does
not control how it is installed and reinstalled. Maybe try uninstalling it
completely, the downloading it again and installing it.
From the Android Home Page, go to Settings>>Applications>>Manage Applications>>PhonePlus Callback. Then press the Uninstall button.
Another way is to go to Market>>Applications>>Communications>>PhonePlus Callback>>Uninstall.
We would like to know why you wish to uninstall. Is the product not what you want or does it not work correctly or is there some other issue? Please let us know through the Contact Us page.
You
can pull up the App, go to Settings, and press the toggle bar "PhonePlus
Callback: Enabled" (on the Basic Tab) so
that it changes to "PhonePlus Callback: Disabled" and then press
Save. This should disable the app, until you re-enable it.
Agreed. Unfortunately Google
Android does not let us do that. It treats the phone app as a high priority
app, and does not let our app send an endcall message
to the phone app. We've tried :-)
But here's a work around. Starting with v1.0.6, we
have added a new setting called "Show Will-Call Button bar: When Call is Ringing or As soon as I Reject a call". " Ringing" is the normal mode where you press the
will-call option and the End Call button.
However, in the new "Reject" option will show the will-call
buttons AFTER you press the end call button on the phone (not while the call is
ringing). We know it is still pressing two buttons which is not as good as
pressing one, but the order of pressing them may seem more logical - you reject
the call and then immediately see the options to send the message.
Please do the following test:
·
Go to settings, and press reset to defaults.
·
Ask a friend or relative
who has a cell number to call your phone
·
Make sure first that their
number is in your contacts as A MOBILE NUMBER
·
When the call comes in, press Will Call>>Busy
·
Then press the phone's hangup button
·
Your friends phone should
receive a text message
·
For email, test with your
home number
·
Make sure it is in contact
as a home number and not as a mobile number
·
Put in your email address
into your Home contact
· Call from your home number and press Will Call
·
You should receive an email
Please let us know how this goes.
1) If you are
interested, you will need to set up the Android
SDK on your computer, install the driver for your computer to recognize the
phone over USB, and then launch DDMS on your computer to access the logs on the
phone. If you're semi technical, this is not hard as it might sound.
Download and install the Android SDK from: http://code.google.com/android/download.html
. The full
instructions are at: http://code.google.com/android/intro/installing.html
2) Install windows driver (if you are using a
windows pc): http://dl.google.com/android/android_usb_windows.zip
3) Connect your phone to the computer using the
cable
4) Open a DOS command prompt. XP: Start>>Run>>cmd.exe; Vista: type in cmd.exe into Start field.
5) Go to the tools folder under the folder where
you installed the SDK. (if you added it to the PATH already as described below,
then you can skip this step)
6) Type in adb devices.
You should see you phone listed
7) Type in ddms. This
will launch a debugger program
8) Click on your device name in the debugger.
Immediately you will see the log in the pane below.
9) To copy the logs you can do EDIT>>Select
ALL, or select a few lines and hit Ctrl-C. You
can then paste this into a notepad text file and save it and email it.
10) To take screenshots of what is on your phone
from DDMS, you click on Device>>Screen Capture on the DDMS top toolbar.
You can then save these images and email them.
Still have a question? Please ask.
